Background

  • Teak is a very durable type of hardwood from south eastern Asia. The teak tree can reach a height of 40 meters in the tropics and grows originally in the monsoon forests of India and Myanmar. In the dry season the tree loses its leaves to prevent evaporation and in the rainy season the tree blooms with exuberant clusters of fragrant, white flowers that are pollinated by bees. Teak trees are now also planted in Africa and Central America.
  • Teak tree (Tectona grandis) have long been used, especially by growers and keepers of tropical fish and shrimp, in the same way as the Catappa leaves. The Teak leaves are not very well known yet, this is mainly due to the fact that they are difficult to obtain. The leaves are also an excellent food for shrimp !

Features

  • Where a catappa leaf decays after + - a month, a teak leaf takes + - 2 months. In this way, you can take advantage of leaves in different stages of decomposition in the water. Shrimp eat the soft leaves and can therefore be supplied with food for a long time. Ideal holiday/vacation food !
  • The Teak leaves help with: bite injuries, fungal diseases, hardening of scales, finrot, colour enhancement and fat burning.
  • The Teak leaves have a positive influence on the colours of the fish and they have very positive effects on strengthening the scales of the fish. They stabilize the pH level and act as a natural antibiotic. The leaves also help with fat burning resulting in more muscle making your fish more athletic and agile.

Benefits

  • In contrast to the Catappa leaves, Teak leaves do not cause a strong discoloration of the aquarium water. The discoloration is much less, making the Teak leaves ideal for Aquarists who want to benefit from the benefits of Catappa leaves but do not want strongly discoloured aquarium water. In addition, the duration of action of the teak leaves is longer than that of Catappa leaves.
  • This leaf is a natural product. It is 100% natural which can mean that there are some holes, tears, fractures, etc. Every leaf is different, the sizes are cut the same as much as possible, but some differences can occur.

  • Use 1-2 leaves per 100L, replace when dissolved/decayed or eaten.
